A YAS medallion
is tough to win.
377 players
registered for YAS camps
during
June, July and August, 2010.
143 players won medallions at
full camps (4 days) by:
(a) working hard to improve their
basketball skills in relation to their ability,
(b) showing team-work and sportsmanship
during daily tournaments and competitions,
(c) attending camp every day all day, and
(d) being present at the camp's
wrap-up
awards ceremony.
A maximum one medallion was
winnable
per player per camp.
Each medallion winner's name
is listed
only once, although some won 2nd, 3rd
and 4th medallions at different camps
of the summer as shown in parenthesis.

Skills-reinforcement tournaments
and competitions leading to daily championships are held during the
afternoons of each YAS
camp.
During tournaments and
competitions,
each player plays
equally and reinforces the skills
they
learned during morning
instructional sessions.
The YAS Tournaments are
listed below. Each is unique
to YAS, is highly organized
and has its own set of
structures and rules designed
to increase skills development
within an atmosphere of fun.

Pure
Pressure
IN A ROW
Winning Teams
A team must score
50 consecutive
pressure passed no-dribble legal layups
within 45 minutes in order to win.
Each time someone misses or travels,
the team starts over.
Each camps teams had one chance
to get it right with each player
experiencing pure pressure as they
took their turn.
The atmosphere was intense.
Players had to focus and score every
single time they shot.
They had to make their shots no matter what. Most
teams didnt get to 50 in a
row. Two teams did and therefore won:
one at a Regina camp
and one at a Saskatoon camp.
The winning Team at
Regina Senior Camp,
August 10, 2010 scored 91 consecutive
pure pressure layup shots.
The players who were
still on the team when the game was won:
Jilynne
Runns (Carry the Kettle)
Donald Goodwill (Lebret)
Chazz Cyr (Balcarres)
K.C. Lejoure-Kennedy (Regina)
C.J. Lejoure-Kennedy (Regina)
Luke
Skotnitsky (Regina)
Dakota McNab (Regina)
Shirley Stonechild (Regina)
The
winning Team at Saskatoon Senior Camp,
August 19, 2010 scored 61 consecutive
pure pressure layup shots.
The players who were
still on the team when the game was won:

Andrew Carswell (Shellbrook)
Tara Shenher (Nipawin)
Graham Hay (Wynyard)
David Lutzer (Saskatoon)
Michael Doyle (Saskatoon)
Nick Hawrishok (Lac Vert)
Ethan Frostad (Saskatoon)
