Annual YAS North - South

The YAS North - South Ironman Tournament is one of the best skills development and fun basketball tournaments anywhere.  Every year players, parents and coaches call as early as Christmas to inquire about the upcoming summer's North - South Ironman Tournament.

The 2010 North - South Ironman Tournament will be held August 27 and 28 (Friday evening and Saturday morning and afternoon) at the Cosmo Civic Centre gym in Saskatoon
.

Graduates from every YAS 2010 Senior Session will automatically be invited and eligible to play in the tournament if they accept their invitation.  Graduates of YAS 2010 Bantam sessions who have demonstrated advanced competitive ability will also be invited.

Any graduate from a past summer's YAS session who is still age 16 or under, who has not attended any other summer basketball camp or school since they last attended YAS, and who has not yet played on any 4A or 5A urban high school senior basketball team will also be eligible to play in the tournament.  YAS graduates will each be permitted to bring one or two friends to play in the tournament who are age 16 or under, who have not attended any other basketball camp or school, and who have not played on any 4A or 5A urban high school senior basketball team.

Every player will play 8 tournament games with two-thirds floor time in each game.

Six regional teams played in the 2009 North - South Ironman Tournament held in Saskatoon August 21 and 22.  The champion team was
" Saskatoon. "  See the YAS web site home page and the link " North-South Tournament " for the names of players who were on the 2009 champion team and other interesting details.

The Last Day is Graduation Day

each weekly camp as well as the North - South Tournament.  Parents, family members and friends are cordially invited.
